Books I Want To Read This Year

Sorry for the blurry picture, my camera sucks :|
I realized that it’s been days since I made this blog and all I do up until now is moving my book reviews here (did it just yesterday and I have no idea why did i make a fuss about it heheh). Haven’t made any proper opening post, so here it is!

But it’s not like anyone’s gonna rea—

Hello?

*knock knock*

Oh, so i’m right.

(It’s a good thing anyway, so I can blab whatever I want.)

Okay.

So.. being on this site all over again is quite like revisiting my adolescent years (oh, glory). I was here when I was 13, circa 2008 but then decided to delete my blog for good in 2010 due to embarrassing content back then lol. I used to post book reviews, movies, et cetera BUT I fangirl(ed?) too much over Disney Stars, so, yeah. #thereisaidit

(Well, it’s 2016 which means I’m in my legal age already and still fangirl but let’s not talk about that)

And now I think why not start a new one, because it’s easier to leave a trace on posts that I like :D Thank God apparently I only deleted my blog and still have the account. Sooo.. instead of the classic, boring intro, I would rather share the books that I’d love to—plan to read this year.

Haruki Murakami
Ever since I read one particular quote from Norwegian Wood a few years ago, I was so eager to read, at least, one of his books. I just haven’t got the chance to and basically no idea of which should I read first. Last year I was this close to buy The Strange Library (UK Version, with beautiful yet mysterious cover), but cancelled the down payment and bought some YA instead, because I thought it was too thin.

Some people suggested me to read Norwegian Wood first since it’s the simplest Murakami’s book but I am also interested with 1Q84 so I’m still torn between those two ;_; But I (hopefully) will definitely read one of them later this year.

Quiet - Susan Cain

If anyone ever looked at my Goodreads shelves, they would only have found one non-fiction book—Who Moved My Cheese?—and the fact that it did not impress me. That’s what I have always had in mind since forever ago, that self-help books are pointless. But I’m trying to change it now.. maybe i just yet to find that kind of book that fits me.

I see that Quiet is well-researched and seems good, so I decided to give it a try. I already have the book, but still looking for the time to savor it.

Never Let Me Go - Kazuo Ishiguro
Once upon a time, I promised myself I was going to do all my work gracefully, punctually, and without procrastinating. But then I discovered Buzzfeed and I failed to do the third one. Long story short, I came across the list of 65 books you need to read in your 20s and Never Let Me Go pique my interest so I bought it and I can’t wait to read it!

I guess that’s all, because I’m afraid that if I put more books on the list it will just end up being a graveyard. Maybe just add some classics, like To Kill A Mockingbird or Catcher In The Rye. I actually also want to read some of Indonesian author’s books, lately I’m kind of interested in Indonesian literary, so maybe i will read them, too.

Anyway, how do people usually end the non-review posts? Is it just “bye” or is there some fancy way to do it?

Well, since I am new here, I will just go with~~

Until next time!
